Victory Square is located in Sector 1 of the capital, at the intersection of 9 traffic arteries. It is the confluence point for Calea Victoriei, Buzesti, Lascar Catargiu, Iancu de Hunedoara Boulevard, Aviatorilor Boulevard, Paris Street, Kiseleff Road, Ion Mihalache and Nicolae Titulescu.
The square first appeared on maps in 1831, under the name Capul Podului. Its name was given after the victory in the War of Independence.
In the area we find very valuable buildings, historical monuments, such as Victoria Palace or the “Grigore Antipa” National Museum of Natural History. Also in this area are the Geological Museum, the Romanian Peasant Museum, the “Nicolae Iorga” Institute of History, Oromolu Villa and Mavrogheni School. In the last two decades, two more buildings worthy of mention have been built - Tower Center International and BRD Tower.
