Roman Square

In Roman Square stands the Palace of the Commercial Academy,  built in a neoclassical style. The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, abbreviated ASE, is a public higher education institution in Bucharest, Romania. It is the most important higher education institution with an economic profile in Romania, founded in 1913. The ASE headquarters is located in the Palace of the Commercial Academy, situated in Roman Square. Also called "the ASE in Roman Square," it has entered Bucharest folklore due to a decorative feature: the enormous ball at the top of the roof. Roman Square also houses a series of heritage buildings listed in the Historical Monuments List, built at the end of the 19th century, some of them belonging to personalities of Romanian culture and science, such as: the Sabba Ștefănescu House, the Nicolae Petrașcu House, the Nanu Muscel House and the "Lalu House".
